Information about materials

from SILVER-925.EU

Silver 925: Our silver collection consists of top quality sterling silver 925. The number 925 tells you, that from 1000 units there is a quota of 925 pices pure silver. The rest is copper. This is necessary for hardening the material and to make more resistant. This silver alloy was defined 1904 in england as standard and so it is called sterling silver.

Silver does not react with oxygen, but with hydrogen sulfide, which you will find with low contingent in air. Due to this reaction, silver may tarnish on the surface in yellow or dark blue colours. This coating can be removed with a silver polishing cloth. For everlasting care it is adviced to polish the silver pice of jewelry with such a cloth once in a while.

Stainless steel : Stainless steel jewel pieces are absolutely nonmagnetic and anti- allergic.

The element tungsten (atomic number 74, symbol "W") has a high end melting point, is extremely hard and is technically used for filaments in bulbs and for resounding missiles. As piece of jewellery tungsten has an high scratch resistance and looks like new for a long time.
